Many years ago people would see the Japanese tourist coming in groups all wearing and expensive Camera around
their necks. Then the Americans came in with all their dollars. Now it has changed the tourists are Chinese. Last year big
tours buses would come through town filled with Chinese tourist. This year there is a change. There is a Chinese couple
sitting on every bench in town. Someone must have done son publicity that Granada is a Romantic Town as there are young
Chinese couples everywhere. They are all very educated. My curiosity got the better of me so I asked a young couple where
they were from. We were eating at the same restaurant. They looked at me and the young man answered in English and said
I don’t understand you. The waiter said, Lisa you are mistaken they aren’t Chinese. I told him yes they were as I had understood
what they were saying when they were trying to order. Finally the young girl said, she’s speaking Chinese! The boy had seen my
white Anglo Saxon face and assumed I was speaking a language he couldn’t understand. His face turned bright red as we started
to talk. He was so embarrassed. I have that problem often so I realized what was going on. My curiosity was satisfied. They were
students from Beijing that were studying in Belgium and Holland. They came to Spain for their summer break!
